The woman he must resist is the one he desires most of all ...
Darroc MacConacher spends sleepless nights dreaming of a raven-haired beauty who makes him ache with desire. Then his dream comes true: the lady with her lush curves and fair skin appears shipwrecked on his shores. Darroc is immediately drawn to her strength and beauty, and from the moment she lays eyes on this powerful, broad-shouldered warrior, Lady Arabella MacKenzie knows she'll never want another man.
But theirs is a forbidden love. The MacKenzies drove the MacConachers from their lands and destroyed their honor. Now, Darroc can use this sapphire-eyed seductress to shatter his foes. Yet how can he deny the passion that burns between him and Arabella, and ruin the one woman who touches his very soul?
***** FIVE STARS! I do not normally read books about the Highlander clans, but occasionally the mood strikes and I pick one up. I am very happy that I chose this title to read. The main characters are well developed and the history between the clans is dark, yet intriguing. The author does not skimp on the secondary characters either. I came to care for several of them within both clans. I love the fact that even though Darroc has the right and desire for revenge upon the MacKenzies, his honor keeps him from venting this rage upon an innocent lass. The touches of magic add a mystical flavor to the story as well. Terrific! Click here to read the entire review (scroll down the page). ~ Detra Fitch, Huntress Book Reviews
"Welfonder has a unique and distinctive writing style that sets her apart from all others. Her Scottish tales are always good reading and each shares a link to previous characters, although they can be read alone. Magic, ghosts, ancient relics and mysterious old crones combine to make this story special." ~ Romance Reviews Magazine
"Sweet as the scent of heather, A HIGHLANDER'S TEMPTATION is a wonderful visit to the Highlands. The attraction between Arabella and Darroc is tangible. There are humorous spots throughout, particularly in scenes where her father is angry. Darroc and Arabella must overcome the odds to have their happily ever after." ~ CinLee, Romance Junkies

"Those of you who have enjoyed Sue-Ellen Welfonder's wonderful highlanders in the past you are really going to enjoy this one…it's Arabella's story!!! I have been waiting for this one as she has always been my personal favorite of Linnet and Duncan's daughters, and it was well worth the wait let me tell you!
This is a wonderful story of a love that wasn't meant to be, or is it? You will fall in love with Darroc and Arabella! I know I did and Sue-Ellen Welfonder's beautiful lyrical love story that she has woven between the two. The decks are so stacked against these two and you find yourself really wondering how they can surmount all the odds that seem desperate to keep them apart. I loved the passion that burns between the two lovers and you get to revisit many favorites from past novels… Duncan (he's back and at his blustering best lol), Sir Marmaduke, Linnet and Devorgilla, and there are many new and equally memorable characters that you meet in this one as well at Castle Bane I loved Connell, Darroc's kind hearted and brave cousin- I do hope we see him return in the future! As always Sue Ellen's love and passion for her beloved Scotland shines through on every page, and you feel like you are immersed in the breathtaking scenery of the Hebridean Isles as you read along. So if you love Sue Ellen's stories or if you just love a good Scottish love story you want to be sure not to miss out on this one!" Click here to read the entire review. ~ Sapphire Romance, JennJ

"RT 4 1/2 Stars. Welfonder provides witty banter between a feisty heroine and a stalwart hero caught in an ancient curse. The added paranormal elements and sensuality turn the story into an intriguing page-turner that fans of Scottish romance will adore." ~ Kathe Robin, Romantic Times
"Ms. Welfonder writes a remarkable Scottish tale taking us deep into the Highlands. Her words are so real, we can almost hear the warriors' swords clashing, see the mist on the moors and smell the moss gathered on trees and clinging to rocks. SEDUCING A SCOTTISH BRIDE is the latest in a long line of enchanting Scottish stories by Ms. Welfonder that will charm you. You will love the strength of her latest, fiery heroine as she brings her man to his knees. What a lass!" ~ Suzanne Tucker, Fresh Fiction
"5 Stars ~ Mystery, magic, and love in historical Scotland. Will Lady Gelis be able to seduce her husband who wants her returned home for her safety from the evil that inhabits his land, but will the evil destroy her if she stays?
This is an extraordinary story, a rare gift to savor as a woman who knows what she wants goes after it much to the dismay of her new husband who desires only to return her home, unspoiled, to protect her from certain death. However, Gelis is having nothing to do with returning home, Gelis wants to indulge in the marriage bed come whatever, and she is pulling out all of the feminine wiles that she possesses to seduce her new husband." "Sue-Ellen Welfonder is magically triumphant in writing Seducing A Scottish Bride. I love historical romances, especially Celtic ones, and Ms. Welfonder has mingled fantasy and romance together impeccably. There were hints of supernatural elements that took the novel to new heights. Seducing A Scottish Bride is one of those books that as soon as you've read the last few words you hold to your chest and sigh. Yeah, it really is that good." 5 HeartsClick here to read the entire review. ~ Book Reviews by Crystal, Crystal Adkins
This is a lovely story set in the Scottish Highlands. The descriptions of the country and the people are vivid and breathtaking. This tale includes adventure, love and magic, all of the elements for a terrific Scottish romance. I enjoy Gelis' stubbornness, determination, and brazenness. The bond she and her father share is one which is familiar to me. Ronan is the very image of a Scottsman--handsome, rugged, strong and extremely set in his ways. Ms. Welfonder creates an enchanting story which touched the depths of my being. 5 cups Click here to read the entire review. ~ Kimberly, Coffee Time Romance & More
Ms. Welfonder continues her penchant for penning romances that touch the heart. I have lost count of the books I have read from this awesome lady, but I have to tell readers, Gelis and Raven's story is one of a kind. The sensuality abounds, the repartee between two ancient mages, and the humor that relieves the darkness of evil make this an astounding and worthy read of Scottish myths and love. "Scotland is one of the most magical lands in history, and Sue-Ellen Welfonder brings it alive in this tale. The heather, the lochs and glens, and most important of all, the Scottish people with their customs, and spirited look on life contribute to making this one of the most romantic and magical stories a reader could ask for. You'll fall in love with Ronan and Gelis, and if you haven't read the rest of the MacKenzies' stories (find the list at www.welfonder.com ), you'll be chomping at the bit to get them after reading SEDUCING A SCOTTISH BRIDE, an enchanting tale of love that won't be denied." "Seducing a Scottish Bride was an entertaining read with romance and a dash of paranormal. It was a pleasure to revisit the MacKenzies, and watch Duncan have to deal with adult daughters. "Welfonder has honed her craft well, and displays her expertise in her latest Scottish Highlands novel, Seducing a Scottish Bride . Lady Gelis is spirited and displays the same stamina that her mother did when faced with her own dark brooding husband, Gelis's father The Black Stag. The Raven is reminiscent of that former hero, and yet stands on his own as super sexy, and with that hint of vulnerability especially in his compassion we see when dealing with his aged beloved dog, Buckie. (Gotta love a man that loves his dog!) Another sure shot best-seller for author Sue-Ellen Welfonder!" Click here to read the entire review. ~ A Romance Review, Bonnie
On the eve of his return to Baldreagan castle, Highlander Jamie Macpherson can not believe his eyes: a golden-haired beauty haloed in the moonlight of St. Bride's own glade, so delicate and fair she can only be a faery. The knight’s desire rises like a wave, and then crashes. For despite the treachery that has just made him the new Macpherson heir, he’s still betrothed to a noblewoman he’s never met…
Yet there’s magic—and passion—in this union. Fiery Aveline Matheson may look like a sprite, but she’s a flesh-and-blood bride eager to discover the pleasures of marriage. And woe to those who would stop their lovemaking! Avenging his slain kinsmen is only second to Jamie’s protecting his beloved…and keeping her in his arms forever.
**Starred Review**
'Jamie MacPherson (introduced in UNTIL THE KNIGHT COMES, 2006) has matured from a neglected tenth son into one of the MacKenzie's most valued
knights, but when he learns that a bridge collapse has taken the lives of
all his brothers, he obeys his father's long-awaited summons with mixed
feelings. When the bewitching sprite glimpsed in the moonlight is revealed
as his intended bride, he is quickly reconciled to his fate, but dastardly
acts and ghostly sightings soon convince Jamie that his clan - and his new
bride - are in danger. Once again, Welfonder's careful scholarship and
attention to detail vividly re-create the lusty, brawling days of medieval
Scotland with larger-than-life chivalrous heroes and the dainty but
spirited maidens chosen by the old gods and blessed by the saints to
partner them. The Highland magic wielded by Devorgilla of Doon and her
trusted fox, Somerled, as well as the return of much-loved characters from
previous stories, will enchant Welfonder's steadfast readers and garner
new ones among fans of paranormal historical romance.' ~ Lynne Welch, Booklist
'An enjoyable combination of historical romance and fantasy that I felt brought to life the passion of the Highlands. Compelling characters, the magic of love, and delightfully steamy scenes. "UNTIL
THE KNIGHT COMES is
a fast paced, well-written story that will keep you on the edge of
your seat. Even though the
language and traditions are different from ours, we are effortlessly
drawn into life as it was then and can easily see how bravery and fighting
were an everyday part of living. Ms. Welfonder's love of Scotland
is clear, and she draws us into her world of mists in a land of beauty
and legend.
There are great secondary characters helping defend
Cuidrach and keeping Mariota safe for Kenneth from Hugh's men, who
mean to capture and sacrifice her. Nessa
is Mariota's friend, and Sir Lachlan Macrae is the garrison captain who catches
Nessa's eye. Jamie the Small, a warrior of Kenneth's, brings humor and
bravery to the story. Let’s not forget all of Hugh's and Kenneth's
brave warriors who bring excitement and danger to life in fourteenth century
Scotland.
UNTIL THE KNIGHT COMES is a further chapter in
a loosely related series of Ms. Welfonder's books about Scotland.
Historical romance lovers will definitely enjoy life in Scotland
years ago and meeting people who epitomize the love of their land
in their lives. Enjoy!" ~Romance

"I loved this story. Mariota is headstrong
and willful, and Kenneth is honorable, intelligent, and determined
to keep her. They've both been burned before so they are wary of
each other. The characters are well developed, spirited and quick-witted
which makes for some interesting verbal dueling. The author also
uses the dialect of the time, which I believe makes it more real.

"Welfonder brings medieval Scotland to life once again in Until
the Knight Comes." ~ Bookloons Reviews
"Once again Welfonder returns the reader to
her beloved medieval Scotland to give her fans a dose of romance
and intrigue amongst the heather, lochs and crags of the land and
people she clearly loves.
Lady Mariota Macnicol defied her family to become the lover of Hugh
Aleson, Bastard of Drumodyn thinking he loved her and would take her
to wife. Instead, he lived right up to his name the moment Mariota
discovered him fornicating with the local alewife. So shocked at being
discovered Hugh died of a heart attack, but the alewife so angered
at losing a hefty source of income, stole the stunned Mariota's dirk,
plunging it into Hugh's chest and escaped while Mariota was found and
accused of killing the liege lord of the castle.
Imprisoned in the dungeon, Mariota was rescued by her companion Nessa
and they escaped to the vacant ruin of Castle Cuidrach. Unfortunately,
for the two women the newly made knight, Sir Kenneth MacKenzie has
just arrived to take possession of his inheritance. Mariota boldly
claims she is the lady of the keep awaiting her husband but quickly
changes her story when Kenneth informs her -- the keep in now his.
Both have vowed to never love again, but chemistry and the meddling
Devorgilla of Doon would soon be working her magic to have them both
singing a new tune and to help them face the danger of besting those
who sought to tear them apart.
UNTIL THE KNIGHT COMES resonates clearly this authors
love of Scotland through the vivid imagery of her prose. Secondary
characters were all colorfully brought to life and I was thrilled
to see Devorgilla reappearing to add that delightful bit of magic
I've found to be immensely satisfying in this series. Jamie "the Small" was
a darling and I certainly hope to see more of him in future offerings.
Well written, nicely sensual love scenes combined with a sweet ending
that will melt your heart and mist your eyes are all in store for
the reader." ~ Marilyn Rondeau, RIO - Reviewers International

"Another wonderful Highland Tale from Welfonder...
Sue-Ellen Welfonder shines, writing with Scotland
in her soul. Just not what she THINKS Scotland is, but the rugged
beauty of the land, the unbending principals of the people, the
love, honor and loyalty. As a Scot, and one with deep roots in Medieval
Scottish History, I often cringe at books written about Scotland
, without really knowing Scotland . The writer may give a wonderful
story, but there are glaring errors that scream, "I have never been to Scotland " in
the writing. I have learned over the years to sigh and read for
their tale and their ability to create with their prose, but
know, while they thought they created a book that is pure Scottish,
they missed the mark. I never feel that grinding of the teeth;
I never sigh with disappointment as I read one of Welfonder's
Highland tales. Once again she gifts us with her love of the
Highlands .
Toss in an ancient curse haunting the castle, a wee charming
doggie, and you have the mix of a Highland saga that Welfonder excels
at conjuring. She paints a picture as Scotland was. It's like opening
a door and stepping through to the Highlands , heather peat fire and
all. It's a stand alone title, but it's truly best enjoyed with reading
the others in the series, Knight in My Bed, and Master of the Highlands.
"Welfonder's love for all things Scottish, especially

is magical. She brings back Devorgilla, a beloved character from
her previous books and surpasses her readers' expectations. Her heroine
is true-to-life and the fact that Amicia is a bit more endowed
than the run-of-the-mill heroines won her a special place in my heart.
A sensitive and soul-tortured hero, along with accidents that happen
on purpose, sinister evil and a ghost from the past make Wedding
For A Knight, an excellent choice for a book that will rival
a bubble bath for taking a reader away!" Explicit

"Wedding for
a Knight is
a treat ... a charming historical romance set in 14th century medieval
Scotland . A brooding hero, a wonderful, strong-willed heroine, and
a secondary cast of characters as engaging as the two main ones. With
a touch of magic and humor, Welfonder brings the reader quite an enjoyable
story. I definitely recommend it." Click here to read the

"History and beautiful details of Scotland. Romance,
spunk, and mystery. A must read!" ~ SSM, Rendezvous
"Welfonder's love of Medieval Scotland is so great
one wonders if she isn't a reincarnation of one of the loving souls
she creates in her stories. She maintains the magic and mystery that
devoted fans have come to expect from her meticulously researched
and highly entertaining Highland reads. In WEDDING
FOR A KNIGHT she has injected
originality, excitement, and a glimmer of the mystical along with
a deeply satisfying love match. Amicia is a superb heroine – one who
knows her own mind and was not about to be cast aside. The other truly
enjoyable thing about both protagonists was that she was not the perfectly
svelte glorious looking typical heroine, rather one with a ‘real'
body - flaws and all - and that our hero thought of her as perfection! Bottom
Line – The latest entry in her MacLean series is a stand-alone
original ‘stand-out' of a Highland gem!" Click

Once again, Ms. Welfonder brings us
to the Scottish Highlands with her MacLean and MacKinnon clans. This
book feels like you have stepped back through time, but then
again, all Ms. Welfonder's books seem to have that aura. I thoroughly
enjoyed the heroine and hero, as she tried to win him and he
tries to keep his distance. The added twist of a third party
who tries to keep them apart spices up the book nicely and moves
it along. Even though this book ties in with her previous titles,
this one can be read as a stand alone. A great addition to an
already wonderful series. Click

He was the lord of the land -- but a slave to one woman's passion
...
No lass is less suited for the convent than strong-willed
Madeline Drummond. No man is a poorer candidate for penance than
hot-tempered Iain MacLean. But Madeline is posing as a nun - long
enough to take revenge on a murderous villain. And Iain is dutifully
bringing a family relic to a holy shrine - as the price for his own
reckless ways.
When
the fiery Highlander and the fearless lady meet, pretenses
are shed like lovers' clothes and vows of chastity are scorched by
a single kiss. Posing
as husband and wife, the two firebrands join forces to reclaim
Madeline's ancestral home. And she may soon wonder whether 'tis a
blessing or a
curse to be the one true love of the Master of the Highlands!
"Master
of the Highlands grabs you in the very first chapter, the
anguish and guilt that fuels Iain's anger, the pain and loss that
pushes Madeline
to chase revenge are so poignantly told that you are reading faster
and faster. A well paced tale of learning to put your past behind
you. I will be going to the bookstore and finding Ms. Welfonder's

It is an honor and a pleasure to read such a well-written and well-researched
Highland novel."

Donall is an RT K.I.S.S.of the Month Hero!
A
Warrior In Chains, A Lady In Charge,
And A Seduction Too Hot To Handle!
Sue-Ellen's second Scottish medieval romance.
As chieftain of the Clan MacInnes, Lady Isolde will
do anything to protect her people -- including sacrifice herself to
the enemy. Donall the Bold, laird of the hated MacLeans, lies locked
in her dungeon awaiting execution. But rather than slay him, Isolde
comes up with a daring plan to forge a lasting peace between their
clans.
Though Donall curses his beautiful captor, only
a madman would refuse to savor the pleasures beneath that tantalizing
aura of dignity and grace. But Isolde offers a mere covenant ... and
Donall craves nothing less than total conquest. Vowing to steal her
heart and take his freedom, the renowned warrior instead will find
himself in a different kind of prison -- one made of sweet, decadent
passion, and one he may never wish to escape.
Sue-Ellen Welfonder is fast becoming one of my favourite
historical romance writers, because not only are her books superbly
written, but her medieval stories are gritty, sexy, and with enough
meat to sink your teeth in. Donall the Bold is one of the most sensual,
braw, handsome and honourable men I have ever had the pleasure to
read. And Lady Isolde's spirit and determination, combined with her
shyness and vulnerability makes her both real and complex. Knight
in my Bed is the perfect first book to her MacLean Trilogy. A delight!

Duncan is a Romantic Times K.I.S.S

"Welfonder is a marvelous writer of Scottish
sagas I am a Scot, and I love history, so I am rather
picky on Scottish historicals. I nearly cringe when writers set
a book in Scotland and have little idea of the country or the history.
I must say this book, Ms. Welfonder's debut novel, surprised me.
I really enjoyed it and recommend it to those wanting a good old
fashioned Scottish romance . And I mean "old fashioned" in glowing
terms; the type of books we should see more of instead of fewer
and fewer. Ms. Welfonder gives a first class tale and it insures
I will keep reading her next efforts. If you have not discovered
this true conjurer of Scottish historical with a wee dram of the
Stop-Breath, then you are in for a treat.
This is a warm, loving tale. Ms. Welfonder's voice is already strong,
surprising for a first book, so she shows she is a writer to watch.
Her love of Scotland is clear in her words. I love her understanding
of the lore, of the magic acceptance of the Scots.

Sue-Ellen is delighted to announce her participation in Lori Foster's upcoming charity anthology to help needy animals. Look for her Scottish-set short story in which a mischievous canine friend plays a starring role in the romance!
Finding love is the last thing on Jilly Pepper's mind when she travels to Loch Lomond, but Scotland's magic is hard to resist, especially when local Kieran MacColl and his haggis-craving border collie prove that happiness often comes when least expected in A Man, A Woman, and Haggis. (By Sue-Ellen Welfonder)
A Man, A Woman and Haggis ... Jilly Pepper is an American tourist on vacation in Scotland. She is there to visit the grave of her grandmother' s old beau and return a piece of jewelry he had given her.
Keiran McColl meets Jilly when his dog, appropriately named Haggis, attacks her plate of haggis at breakfast. He notices something familiar about this woman and invites her on a boat tour.
Haggis had me laughing from his first meeting with Jilly. As an owner of four of these mischievous beasts, I could really relate.
Tails of Love is a book filled with delightful stories. Every story touched my heart in one way or another. Each author has contributed a story filled with romance and humor with the animals being the center of almost every tale. I laughed and cried as I read these stories. I am encouraging everyone I know to purchase this collection. Not only is it written by some of the most wonderful authors, a portion of the proceeds are being given to a no-kill animal shelter. From one animal lover to another, and even if you are not, I recommend this book. Not only will you help a fantastic cause, you may find a glimpse of your best friend within these pages. I know I did. ~ Kimberly, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More
Sue-Ellen Welfonder concludes the anthology with A Man, A Woman, and Haggis . Jilly Pepper is visiting Scotland when she hears a voice telling her to order the haggis. She listens and finds herself entangled with Kieran and his dog named Haggis. Is Jilly seeing ghosts? Will she find a love to last all time in Scotland?
Sue-Ellen Welfonder does an excellent job at using haggis, both the food and the dog, to craft a mystical and beautiful tale of love . I still laugh at Jilly's reaction to the plate of haggis but even funnier is her reaction to Haggis the dog. A Man, A Woman, and Haggis is a tale in which love truly transcends time.
TAILS OF LOVE is one of those special anthologies in which each story touches your heart. Each author offers a story of love intertwined with some very special animals. Readers who love tales of romance and animals will find TAILS OF LOVE to be a true delight. Highly recommended! ~ Kwips & Kritiques, Debbie
"A Man, A Woman, and Haggis was a fun romance with a past mystery, matchmakers, and even a ghost dog. Filled with colorful characters, this story was entertaining from beginning to end. I loved Jilly's strong resolve to prove she could eat the Haggis, her reaction at realizing she was seeing ghosts, and simply watching Kieran and Jilly fall in love."
